Always carry your driving licence and rental documents with you.
The requirement to pay tolls on express routes is commonplace, so keep some small change handy. Some toll machines are automatic and may not give change.
You can turn right on a red traffic signal after coming to a stop unless you are indicated otherwise.
Watch out for direction signs near junctions, they are often placed very close to the actual turnings.
Florida is renowned for it's hot sunny climate, but when rain does arrive, headlights and windscreen wipers MUST be used.
Seatbelts must be worn at all times.
Slip-roads onto multi-lane express-ways can be deceptively short.
On roads with many lanes, other drivers are allowed to pass you on either side. Please check carefully before changing lanes.
In the unfortunate event of an accident - you MUST inform the Police AND the hire company immediately.
